1MMD2014 [318 of 365] Allow me to tell you my story

…not of fame, not of glory!

I may have been a little premature in cutting myself from the mainstream job market.

A decision that will no doubt haunt me for the rest of my waking days (and nights). Since this (mostly) impetuous and (wholly) brainless move, I have had quite a turbulent journey.

Yes, it could be likened to the kind of turbulence you experience on an aeroplane.

Entrepreneur. I find myself detesting that word. Deep inside I know that I am really NOT that. I use it for the sake of convenience and the lack of a better word. My discomfort with that word, stems from the numerous encounters I’ve had with the real deal and the countless organisations out there, that “assist” them.

This may surprise you, but I was never that popular and had VERY few Friends.

Friends. I wonder sometimes whether I had or have any. My definition is rather strict, that’s why you’ll always see my use of the word capitalised. What is there to gain for someone willing to have my back at critical moments in my life?

“You don’t have to run anymore.”

 

“I’m here for you.”

 

“I’ll never leave you.”

I’ve realised a long time ago, but wouldn’t really admit it to myself, that if I wanted to achieve anything of worth; I’d have to push myself the hardest, to get the furthest. Alas, that drive has also distanced me from my human counterparts. It is not that I lack compassion or the compulsion for it, I just choose to compartmentalise for now.

There is much work to be done. The World STILL needs saving. The majority will hate me, few will love me and I would have had a direct impact in the lives of perhaps less than a handful. Still, I can’t live a life of half measures, pretending to be less than what I know I’m capable of. One more time, all in, for the win…
